When it comes to diary-writing, I believe in flexibility. Not only do our lives change, but our relationship with ourselves changes. We need different things from our diary at different points in our lives. In my teens and 20s, I used my diary to explore my own identity. To figure out who I was and what kind of world I was living in. Now that I’m 40, I have a better understanding of myself and our world. My diary practice has evolved into a kind of compass: a way of orienting myself towards my values. My diary brings me back to myself.
One of the best things about studying notes is that I’m always inspired to try new methods. And, one of the best things about Noted is that I get to share these methods with you! This past year, I experimented with several different methods that I picked up from my research. I hope you find them as inspiring as I do!
