When asked about his relationship with Yoko, John explained that it was challenging, even if you have “this gift of love.” A marriage, he explained, requires constant attention—like “a precious plant.”1 One of the ways he cared for his romantic relationships was with notes.
Yoko would find little notes scattered throughout their home. She recalled, “I would find them in a book I was reading or on the kitchen table or next to my toothbrush...” John Lennon was a romantic, creative guy, so his love notes are really remarkable. They are playful and intense, poetic and striking.
