This is great. I’m really sad to have missed this one seeing as I’ve participated in them all. Nevermind. I’ll know there will be many more to come.
I have one thing to ask about your note taking. Sometimes I worry so much about the right way to write and store my notes I end up starting a million ways and having them all over the place. I’ve never found one good process. I think that’s why I only write on scraps of paper now and throw them in a box. I find that way stops my head from whirling, but it’s not so great to find them all again.
I have so many thoughts on your question--and I'll answer some of them in next week's post on my indexing system. For now, I'll just say that messiness is part of note-taking--and writing on scraps is a time-tested method. (Right now my mind is swirling with all sorts of fun things you could do with those scraps: Like picking one a day as a prompt for journaling. Or picking out five and collaging them together.)
Anyway, whatever you're doing with your notes is wonderful, Simon. I've loved everything you've ever shared with me!
What a beautiful gift to see the compilation of the club's notes. I thoroughly enjoyed reading them. Creating the rituals is part of the fun of keeping notes for me. So glad you included the important ritual of returning. Looking forward to hearing more about this indexing❣️
Thanks for this and for last week's post on Austin Kleon - my copy of his new book arrived over the weekend. Even though I didn't participate this month, I'm still filling my own journal of quotes I come across (including some good ones I found here!). Thank you for doing this!
This was lovely. I especially loved the Notes on Society. So very true.
I don't organise my note in such a pretty way, but I do capture them to return to them when I feel my soul in need of reassurance (or just good common sense advice).
I don't organize my own notes so beautifully either. It's just something fun and creative I do for the club. I stand by organizing quotes by theme though--it's so helpful.
Wonderful to see your selection gathered like this, Jillian.
Big cheer for Heather, such a diligent contributor to CBC and encourager of others. Great prize!!
And so many notes to read and gather into our own collections.
Thank you again, so much, for the communal experience. Magical. 💛
So grateful to have you in the club, Barrie! You are truly the ambassador of encouragement. 💛
Aw, that’s sweet. Thank you … you’ve worked wonders at getting me to adopt the notetaking habit.
Oh, that makes me so happy!

The club wasn't the same without you!

I look forward to reading this Jillian. LIKE EVERYTHING YOU WRITE.

Yes! I'm glad you appreciate rituals of return too.

I love that you're still filling up your journal. And it's always nice to know people are following along silently. Enjoy Austin's book!
So great!! Thank you, Jillian! It has been a joyful addition to my morning routine!!
Another beautiful collection! Thank you for putting it together in such a thoughtful way.
lovely to see the quotes collected like this, thank you for including a few of mine on rest.
I wanted to include all of your quotes, Shaz! I wrote out a few of them in my own personal collection. 💛
Well, I'm glad they were of use for you. I need to keep returning to these quotes...
Gracias por tanta inspiración. No pude descargar el archivo. Me figura que fue cambiado de lugar. Gracias 🙏🏻
De nada! I just checked and the file downloaded for me. I'm not sure what the problem is. But if you email me, I can send it to you.
"It didn't let me do it from the app, but it worked perfectly from my computer. Thank you so much! I always enjoy reading your posts. 😊"
The best part of the commonplace book club is giving me a good reason to review all of my earlier notes!
I always love your notes, Allen!

Thank you for compiling these quotes! I'm saving them all and going to bind them together to form a book of quotes!
Oh, I love that you're doing that, Kimberly!
I love seeing all the notes pictures. So pretty, fun, and interesting. I enjoy looking back on my old notes and scribbles.
So glad, Jenna!
I’ve enjoyed reading these so much…some I will add to my own commonplace book now…
Keep up the good work of encouraging us all….even those like me who rarely comment…
